Krosoczka stated, “”And she started telling me about her grandkids, and that blew my mind. My lunch lady had grandkids, and therefore kids, and therefore left school at the end of the day? I thought she lived in the cafeteria with the serving spoons” (1). Krosoczka develop the tone in this quote by having easy-going storage and also by making it funny at times. He comes off with that approach to catch the audience and make them have a life but also pay attention or what he is meeting. He used informal language to tell his story and show his story because if he used formal language then his speech would be less effective. His informal language helped the audience to see the topic by being humorous and let the audience enjoy the speech. But he makes them assume that they have all had a lunch lady before and had experienced that. Krosoczka said, “And that inspired me to create a day where we could recreate that feeling in cafeterias across the country: School lunch hero day, where kids can make creative projects for their lunch staff”(1). Krosoczka is telling the readers that they should all celebrate that day to recognize the lunch staff but, some might be home school and not have had one
