In the movie Islam: Empire of Faith, we learned about the Muslims and more about the Islamic faith. We learned that the profit for this particular faith was Muhammad. The God that they all worship, the name is Allah. We learned that they surrender themselves to God. The 'Bible' for this religion is the Koran. The part I liked the best was the learning about their way of life and how they dealt with problems and what problems they had, like war, lack of water, etc.
The start of the religion was still around when the Christian community was large in Islam. The movie talked about how the Christians and Muslims got together well and did not fight until years later, and how they co-existed without many problems. The architecture, in my view, is beautiful. All the bright colors and different shapes of the different corridors is amazing. And that the buildings are still standing today, century's later! It just blows my mind. The artwork style is different but the same as other art at the same time. And don't even get me started on the literature. One of them was paper. They also had a cool water purification system that had the fresh water rise over the old dirty water, but if that is incorrect, that is how I took it, and I thought that was cool. Water wheels was another. They learned the anatomy of the human body, and the design of the chart was used hundreds of years after they started it. They also are the reason for algebra and trigonometry. Thank you the Islamic faith, for the many hours spent studying and learning about algebra.
