To What Extent Is Macbeth A Tragic Hero

William Shakespeare wrote “Macbeth” and it’s about someone wanting to be king so bad that he kills a lot of people to get what he wants. Macbeth wasn’t a tragic hero because he cheated his way to be king instead of earning it. The king of Scotland was named Duncan and everybody valued him, he made good decisions for the people of Scotland. Macbeth was the thane of glamis which if Duncan dies, Macbeth takes over Scotland. Macbeth has a wife named Lady Macbeth, she was very persuasive with her words. Lady Macbeth heard that if something happened to Duncan than she would have his riches, So she came up with a plan herself. The plan was to get the guards all drunk, steal their daggers and have Macbeth kill Duncan in his sleep. When she proposed this plan to Macbeth he couldn’t do it, Duncan was a friend to him and his conscience wouldn’t do it. Lady Macbeth was not happy with his answer she told him that he’s a coward if he didn’t go thru with her request. Macbeth gave into his wife, she did exactly what she said she was going to do. Macbeth did as his wife said but forgot to put the daggers back with the guards, She quickly took them and ran back to the dead guards and laid the daggers by them. Macduff suspects something fishy with the way Macbeth runs Scotland. Malcolm made up all these things about himself to see if Macduff was really there about taking down Macbeth or if he was setting him up. He told him that if he was king he’d sleep with all the women, also would steal things from the people that earned it. Macduff realize that Malcolm wasn’t the one for this job so he was getting ready to leave when Malcolm tells the truth.Malcolm said it was all a lie to see if he was actually here for Scotland.
