Interviewee: You don’t want to do that, so, you know, when you want to build a network of donor’s, and alumni, and friends, and, you know, that’s not where you want to be.
Interviewee: And, that’s what I keep thinking as a Chair. It was a good experience for me of what not to do.
Interviewee: What not to do. Regardless of the fact that, you know, yes, I want my folks to be promotable and to go advance to where they want to be, but let’s just do it in a respectful way.
Interviewer: Yeah, could I ask one more, a little question? So, in thinking about, that what I’m getting is a lot of the conversations that you had, happened with your Chair, is that correct? I mean with the Dean.
Interviewee: Well, I think at the end, it was really more, uh, Business Manager kind of taking over and really making it incredibly disrespectful and painful.
Interviewer: Yeah, here is what I’m thinking though. So, I’m, um, yeah, so I hear that, I’m wondering about, thinking about the retention, um, and thinking about when you were speaking with people about, hey, I’m interested in leadership positions, or hey, I am being approached now, or, that conversation where you, am I correct in saying that you were often having conversations with your Chair?
