A successful systems analyst must have the interpersonal skill of communication to perform his or her job effectively. Interpersonal communication is important because it helps an analyst communicate well and interact with others effectively within the workplace. Developing good interpersonal communication skills allows a person to engage with others productively at different levels.
Communication takes many forms from written to verbal to visual aids. A system analyst must be to able understand as many forms of communication as possible. To be an effective communicator, you must consider five related questions about yourself, your audience, and your objectives: why, who, what, when, and how (Tilley and Rosenblatt 465). An effective communicator must know their subject and be a good listener. Good writing is important because others often judge you by your writing. To be an effective writer, you need to write both clearly and persuasively.
A system analyst should follow the 6 by 6 rule or 7 by 7 rule and other guidelines that will make your slides easy to read and understand when developing an online (Tilley and Rosenblatt 480). The fonts and points should be applied appropriately throughout the presentation. Take every opportunity to practice your oral presentation or videotape your presentation for self-evaluation.
