Intelligence. Some might say it is how smart you are. Whereas others might classify intelligence as the ability to acquire knowledge and skills. A man by the name of Charlie Gordon had a chance to have his I.Q. tripled and have his life changed forever. Some doctors chose Charlie for the operation and he took the opportunity and it improved his life greatly. This was a good choice because he achieved his dream, he learned about himself and others, and he helped people.Not only did this have benefits for Charlie, but others around him as well. Some others might think that Charlie has not done anything for science. However Charlie has reviewed his and the doctors’ research and helped them to maybe continue the research to make it stay. When Charlie eats at a diner the new washer boy drops some plates. Everyone laughs at him. Then Charlie said, “Shut up! Leave him alone! It’s not his fault he doesn’t understand! He can’t help what he is! But….He’s still a human being!” (Keyes 202) Charlie helps the boy by standing up for him.
