Importance Of Environment Pollution

Improved Essays
Environment pollution is a global concern since it affects the environment and people’s health. All people in the world, as well as, animals are affected by environment pollution because the earth is our planet, our home and we are the inhabitants. This means every human being can make an effort of contributing towards the prevention of environment deterioration. This way we can help ourselves and our children while ensuring that there is a future generation that requires the sustainability of the environment. It is possible to combat environment pollution when we understand our immediate environment in terms of the forms and nature of pollution and the effects they have on our environment and health.

Also, diseases such as leukemia, skin cancer, cataracts, sun burns, skin cancer and plants damages are as a result of the UV rays that can no longer be absorbed by the ozone layer. Global warming has depleted the Ozone layers, and it’s not possible to shield human beings and plants from the harmful ultraviolet rays emitted by the sun. Carbon dioxide gases are emitted mainly from cars and factories. Currently, there are about 800 million vehicles that contribute the green house gases. This is mainly seen in the current warming of the globe such as glaciers, increased temperatures and migration. There is also the disruption of seasonal patterns, risen levels of the sea and the melting of polar glaciers and ice caps, animals and plant species northwards as they seek for cooler temperatures (Corfee-Morlot, Maslin, & Burgess, …show more content…
The earth surface temperature is expected to rise from 5.5 Fahrenheit by the year 2100 from 2005. This shows that there is the need to take major steps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from cars, factories and power plants that deal with burning fossil fuels (Miller & Spoolman, 2009, p 33).

Conclusion
Environment protection involves the participation of every single person on this planet. There is no need for assuming that global warming is not happening yet we see the changes that have taken place in the environment since we were young. Human activities, which contribute to greenhouse gases emissions, have to be stopped and controlled by strict government regulations. This way it will be possible to protect and sustain the environment for future generation and protect ourselves from diseases resulting from the Ozone layer dilapidation among other diseases resulting from living in a polluted

The global consequences of increased levels in carbon monoxide and methane due to the melting permafrost cause warming in polar regions and unpredictable behavior of the northern jet stream. According to the U.S. Global Change Research Program, the changes in climate cause adverse side effects; such as summers becomes longer and hotter, winters becomes shorter and warmer, seasonal allergies are more severe and last longer, streets flood more after storms, insurance rates increase in vulnerable areas, the weather becomes hotter and drier, and snow melts earlier. This results in wildfires starting earlier and lasting longer—burning more land. Evidence as to why climate change happens point to humans.…

There is no recognition of this in government policies.” This group of minds have laid out an outline of why global warming is manmade. They argue that fossil fuel admissions have and will permanently change the climate of the earth. The rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere are higher than have been detected in 3 million years. According to those who believe in man-made global warming, within the next few years, emissions must be brought down to zero for the recovery of the Earth. “Affordable, clean energy is probably the biggest requirement that the planet has,” according to Hansen in a speech given at Columbia University.…

The government has to ensure that these resources can be available because elsewise the resources will dwindle and cease to exist. There are three specific actions the government can take to better protect the environment. One would be to limit the amount of carcinogens currently being emitted. Carcinogens are compounds known to lead to cancerous growths. Benzene, bisphenol A, or BPA, and vinyl chloride are chemicals used in the various processes of developing plastics and all are carcinogens ("Examples of Environmental Carcinogens").…

“Fossil Fuels are non-renewable energy sources such as oil, coal and natural gas (Withgott, 2014).” Our population growth is causing harm to our ecosystems by polluting the air by our fossil fuels on running cards. The technology is growing and with this affect more buildings are being built causing to destroy ecosystems for that to happen. We are all damaging the ecosystems around us. Stated by Withgott, our population has grown over seven billion people beyond what we can hold. With every single person is equal to several thousand people.…
