The state of Kansas is in the Midwestern United States. The state of Kansas is renowned for its agriculture. It ranks number seven in regard to agriculture production in the United States (Nelson & Staggers, 2014). Wyandotte County is located in Kansas City . Wyandotte County seats west of Kansas City, Missouri. The county of Wyandotte consists of a total population of 163,369 people according to the latest census. The majority of inhabitants are whites, black Americans and Hispanic making up 95,048 46,233 and 26,139 persons respectively. The rest of the population is from other races. The County Population spread out as follow with 28.5% under the age of 18, 10% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 19.90% from 45 to 64, and 11.70% is older adult 65 years of age or older. The leading cause of mortality in this county is heart disease, cancer, stroke, accident, unintentional injuries, and diabetes mellitus (Wyandotte County Health Needs Assessment 2012). According to 2012 health rankings of the county, Wyandotte county was higher in the census of poor health, adult and youth obesity, adult and youth smoking, excessive drinking, motor vehicle crash death rate, poor education and teen birth rate than the national benchmarks (Wyandotte County Health Needs Assessment 2012).
