Hurricane Harvey had an environmentally, economic, political, and social impact on Houston as well as the State of Texas.
Economically, oil refineries were forced to shut down. This stopped the distribution of gasoline and other petroleum products. Consumption of these goods were used up and became scarce. These factors affected employment and people lost their jobs.
Socially the Hurricane stopped people from going to the movies, the mall, church, etc. It was difficult to get food because you couldn’t always go to the stores which caused hunger. It was also difficult to get clean water since a lot of water sources were contaminated and you couldn’t usually go to the store because they were either flooded
