Look In The Mirror “There comes a time when you look into the mirror and you realize that what you see is all that you will ever be. And then you accept it. Or you kill yourself. Or you stop looking in mirrors.” Suicide is a very serious problem that not many people think will ever happen to them, but things change. When they see on the media that someone committed suicide they start thinking about what if they were too commit suicide. People ages 15 to 24,like anyone else, normally are attracted to attention. They see on media these people are getting a lot attention and they realize they are being shown love now that they have committed suicide. While researching the topic should suicides be reported by the media,in the Denise-Marie Ordway made several valid points about suicides in the media. She states “(1) studies measuring the presence of either and entertainment or political celebrity were 5.27 times more likely to find a copycat effect, (4) studies focusing on female suicide were 4.89 times more likely to report a copycat effect than other studies” (Ordway 3). When the media reports on suicides they soon find out that their is an increase of suicides. Since the media covers suicide so much and tells every detail it give others the idea in the back of their head causing them to think is it a good idea. They realize that these people who were hurting so bad got all this attention after the fact that they are gone. That they believe to be recognized by everyone get on tv to be “famous” they have to resort to committing suicide. The article “11 Facts About Suicide” lists facts about suicide and the effect from the media. According to the article “Each suicide intimately affect at least 6 other people” (11 Facts About 1). Well this means that it affecting six other people who had heard about this death. It causes people to think about their lives. Some who think about committing suicide for many reasons finally taking a toll on them. They will start realizing what all comes from committing suicide and at worst do it themselves. Now think about how those people found out about the death due to suicide. The media informed those six people and slowly they become encouraged to go along with the crowed. Then another group of six will think about it and the next person decides to follow the crowed notice the domino
