Their relationship is that they are friends and they are nice to each other. George takes care of Lennie so that he won't get in trouble.Evidence that supports that is in paragraph 20 where it says "Well, look. Lennie- if you jus' happen to get in trouble like you always done before, I want you to come right here an' hide in the brush".He also makes sure Lennie doesn't say anything to the boss so he won't get in trouble.George tells Lennie a story and Lennie gets delighted when he tells him the story.Evidence that proves that is in paragraph 4 where it says "Lennie pleaded, come on George.Tell me.Please, George.Like you done before".Although Lennie knows the story by heart he prefers George to read to him.Evidence that supports that is in paragraph 12 where it says "No ...you tell it.It ain't the same if I tell it".Then they talk about how they would like a vegetable patch, rabbits and chickens.George tell Lennie that one they get acres for where they live they will be able to get rabbits.They don't have a place to stay, they just make their bed on sand and build a fire to keep them warm.
