How Does Najmah Change

(AGG) Change, change is a part of everyone's life like it or not. It will happen. Sometimes for better or for worse, but it's one part of life that will affect you for the rest of time. (BS-1 )Najmah has to become the leader of her family as a result of Najmah's father and brother being taken by the taliban. She and her family's lives are changed and Najmah has to step up and help where her mother can't to keep her family alive. (BS-2)The death of her mother and baby brother leave Najmah in shock, Najmah remains silent as she travels away from her home with Khalida which is a key part in her survival.(BS-3) As Najmah traveled to Peshawar she was sent to Nusrats school where she was cared for and able to return to her old self.

(MIP-1) Najmah’s father and brother, along with much of their food and many animals were taken by the Taliban. This forced Najmah tos step up and help her family. As a result of Najmah's father and brother being taken she and her family's lives are changed and Najmah has to step up and help keep her family alive. (SIP-A) Najmah’s mother is pregnant and very upset. She spent most of her time crying and not eating and therefor not able to help. (SIP-A) When najmah traveled to Peshawar she went to a refugee camp were the malick took her to Nusrat who has a school for children that end up in the camp. (STEWE-1) Nusrat is an American woman that came to Afghanistan with her husband Faiz, Najmah went to her school as a place to learn when she had nothing. “the teacher is an American”(184) Nusrat was able to help najmah regain herself after she had lost herself. (STEWE-2) Nusrat is able to discover that Najmah is a girl by the calluses on her hand. “You’re safe here,” she says. “But it is very dangerous for you to pretend you’re a boy. You must stop or you will become martyr”. (194) Najmah remained silent because she was scared that someone found out she was really a girl. She didn't feel safe as a girl until she was in Nusrat's care for a while. (SIP-B) Najmah is safe at Nusrat's school and she is able to go back to being Najmah instead of Saheed. Nur, Najmah’s brother came to Nusrat's school and was reunited with Najmah. They were able to return home because they had a male in their family to claim the land.
