Communism, as a basic term, is the creation of a profit-based economy, transforming private ownership into government ownership. (Britannica) Essentially, it takes the Three Musketeers’ catchphrase and applies it to how the government is run. “One for all” can be translated into how the government theoretically takes care of its people. “All for one” is translated by the nullification of privately owned lands and properties and the government claim on what was previously owned.
Karl Marx identified two separate phases of communism that, if performed correctly, would overthrow capitalist government. In the first phase, the people of the country would run the government as well as the economy. -----
However, the Soviet Union did not follow this form of ideal communism.
