The first Philosopher we will focus on is the one and only John Locke. His beliefs were very important on the build of the life we live today, John Locke’s main idea was for every person to be equal and share the same rights. In document “A” it states this by saying “There is nothing more evident, than that creatures of the same species and rank … should also be equal one amongst another without subordination or subjection.” Stating everyone of any rank should be equal has made a big impact on todays society by everyone still stands by that and sees being equal as a big part in how we live today. …show more content…
Voltaire's main idea is very identical to John Locke's in a way that states every man equal. Voltaire’s main idea is that there are a vast number of religions that meet at the Royal Exchange in London and if they didn’t accept all religions they would not be fighting and disagreeing and not benefitting mankind. In document “B” it says “If one religion only were allowed in England, the government would very possibly become unrestrained; if there were but two the people would cut one another’s throats; but as there are multitude, they all live happy and in peace.” This shows how it kind of ties to John Locke’s by all being equal because it shows that all the religions don’t think greater of one and another and think alike and for the better for
