History and Controversy of Nuclear Power The creation of nuclear energy has changed the world but, it has affected someone people a little bit closer. Lindsey Schiller, a registered nurse, and her husband and two children have been living next to a nuclear power plant almost a decade now. Currently neighboring the Limerick Generating Station nuclear energy facility in Pottstown, Schiller jokingly states “We kid around when we get really big flowers ... we 're under the power plant, and I kid around that I glow." On a more serious note, Schiller did express concernment about the safety of her family after a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami impacted Japan 's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. For Lindsey Schiller and her family, they are not too worried about anything happening soon and for now, the healthy family is quite content living under the shadow of Limerick Generating Station.
