The organization, Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit entity whose main aim is to offer simple and affordable housing for people across the globe. It was founded by two kind-hearted individuals, Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976 with the partnership of a Christian farmer called Clarence Jordan who they had visited in 1965. Clarence farm was called Koinonia farm in a town called Americus, Georgia where the administrative headquarters of the organization is today. The organization’s international operational headquarters is now in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Due to some unresolved differences the Fullers were dismissed and the organization is now headed by Jonathan Reckford who is the Executive Director. Habitat for Humanity has impacted many lives with its housing endeavor. Their influence is in almost every continent. The financial status of habitat for Humanity has seen an upward progression from its inception. The organization’s mission statement and principles stated that it is “Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.” This mission it has diligently pursued and is still pursuing across the world.
