Ever since I was a baby, I was taught how to speak Greek because the majority of my family speaks it as well. For dinner, we have a wide variety of traditional dishes because “just one will not feed you well enough,” as my grandmother would say. My grandparents would always pick my side against my parents’ and I would pretty much always be seen as an absolute angel even if I was in the wrong. If anyone has ever seen the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” every aspect is extremely accurate. People in my family are loud, carefree, and have no filter when it comes to judgements and opinions. Family is always involved and everyone knows everything, so do not even try to hide something because chances are, they already know. My life is a tv show and everyone is always up to date on the current episode. Others see some of the things Greek families do as “suffocating” or “overbearing,” but this is what I grew up with and have grown accustomed to it. Truthfully, I would not have it any other
