Despite the history and trend of climate change, many individuals still believe that climate change is not real and have asked the prominent question, “How do we know it is real?” In the scientific journal titled Climate Change 2007: The Physical Science Basis the author writes about the trend of Carbon Dioxide (Figure 1A), Methane (Figure 1B), and Nitrous Oxide (Figure 1C). In figure 1A, 1B, and 1C there is an increase in Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide respectively, within the last one thousand years. As it can be seen in each of the figures, there is an increase within the last fifty years. Similar to figure 1A , figure 2 shows the trend of carbon dioxide levels in parts per a million for the last 400,000 years. By quickly analyzing the graph, it could be seen that there are seven different cycles; however, the last cycle has crossed the average line. …show more content…
In the last 20 years, technological innovations such Earth-orbiting satellites have enabled scientist to see the big picture, which reveals the climate changing. However, critics still believe it is not real based on 5 scientific reasons. The five scientific reasons according to John Hawkins, the author of Global Warming isn 't happening are global warming hasn 't occurred since 1977, there is no evidence global warming is caused by man, the artic ice is up fifty percent, previous predictions based on trend have been wrong multiple time, and predictions of the impact have also been wrong. So that leads to the question is global warming real or is it just the greatest scam in history? Well the answer to that question varies by what each individuals believe; however, from all the information provided it could be seen that global warming is real but the new question becomes what is causing global
