With such a controversial topic, heated opinions can always arise, despite the issue at hand. While both articles agree that global warming is occurring rapidly, the writing pieces, however, take and explain different viewpoints. The first article describes global warming as a result from many manmade activities (Lambrick, M. & Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 2). The second article explains climate change as a result from the solar system and natural occurring gases that trap carbon dioxide in the atmosphere (Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 1-2). The article written by Lambrick and Renneboog explains that the increase of global temperatures is a result from the “industrialization of society” (Lambrick, M. & Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 3). Not only can the academic article give scientific evidence that can confirm this claim, but as humankind, we can see it happening. There is an “increase in forest fires, hurricanes and floods” as well as “changes in the environment” (Lambrick, M. & Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 3). With the globalization of many wealthy countries, the world is being polluted and third world countries have to pick up the slack (Lambrick, M. & Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 7). In both academic articles, they shed light on the fact that organizations and companies stand alongside those who care about the issue of global warming only for corporate benefit (Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 16). Despite organizations who work towards the common good, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), there are many companies who put forth campaigns that are looking to get ahead economically (Lambrick, M. & Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 11-12). Ironically, money is poured out into – indirectly – polluting the earth while many companies reap the benefits and gain billions of dollars in trying to fix it (Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 16-17). In addition, many companies and publishers who need peers to edit their scientific evidence will go to those who benefit their outlook on the subject and any information that runs controversy to what the researcher’s views are may be ignored (Renneboog, R., 2017, Para. 9-10). Even with a crisis at hand, money will be at the end of it all, and it’s only about who will make the largest
