Is it fair to be treated unequally, because of your gender? In today’s society, gender inequality happens everyday. This even happens at very young age. It starts in education. Gender inequality is unequal actions made on anyone based on their gender. If all men and women are treated equally, this will improve the value of women. Men will benefit by being informed of strengths, contributions, and capabilities of the opposite sex. Then this will possibly cause men to feel less pressure into traditional roles, behaviors, and ways of thinking. To bring everything to equality, stereotypes have to be counteracted and eliminated. Title Nine is brought up at many colleges and universities around the United States. About forty-two years ago the government made Title Nine. The amendment states: “no person in the US shall, on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of,or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal Financial aid.”("Title IX and Sex Discrimination." Boys use phrases such as, “you do this like a girl.” Yet schools don’t realize that this is saying that girls aren’t worthy of respect.
