The War started on the 25th of April 1915 on the beaches of the Gallipoli Peninsular. The War on in Gallipoli lasted for eight grueling long months with the Australian troops fighting alongside the New Zealand, Ireland, India, Great Britain and France. At the end of the war and estimated 130, 000 men had died which 8,700 of them being Australians and 44, 000 of the Turks had been killed. The deaths on the beached of Gallipoli are always to be remembered as they paid the ultimate price for our country.
The Australian and New Zealand (the Anzacs) troops which volunteered to be part of the war where headed for the beaches of the Gallipoli peninsular .The Anzacs where landed midway up the peninsula putting them in what is now known as Anzac …show more content…
The campaign showed the world that we Australian were determined and proud of our country and that we fight to protect it even if it means death. The campaign has given us Australian pride and a sense of national Identity.
