Some of the people in the group were very violent and wanted to kill the Germans at any cost and chance they got. These people were called maquis. But a lot of the time the group went with the less violent ways and turned to secret newspapers and radio stations to get their point across. A key person who encouraged this behavior and really influence them was Charles de Gualle. At first there were many groups that were apart of the Resistance, but were all around the world. Charles noticed that they were very unorganized and 1941, all of the groups combined together to make one huge resistance.
Once German's figured out what the Resistance was trying to do, they went from annoyed to frustrated real fast. Germany started to just attack and try and make them quit. Women played a very important role in the Resistance. A lot of the Germans just figured that only the men could be trying to fight them and take over, but they were way wrong. The women were working just as hard, but in a very different way. German men had French Resistance ladies right next to them all day. As the women got the male Germans attention, the rest of the Resistance was sneaking by and unnoticed doing so. Women were sent out with food, supplies, and very important information everyday. The guards were to busy flirting with them to actual care about what they had.
