The Danger of Fracking fracking what is it and why it is a danger. ?fracking is the process of injecting liquid at a high pressure into subterranean rocks and boreholes to force open existing fissures and extract oil or gas.? (Oxford dictionary). In this paper I will explain why fracking is dangerous.
President Obama stated the EPA will start the rulemaking process that will restrict methane from existing oil and gas companies. States like New York banned fracking altogether were as states like Maryland only placed temporary bans on fracking until more research sheds light on its risks.
The Europe Countries with the largest shale gas reserves like France and Bulgaria have already banned Fracking. In Poland and England protesters are blocking potential drilling sites. Popular Culture as even got in on the opposition with the release of ?The Promise Land? starring Matt Damon, The Rolling Stones sang about the issue in their new single, ?Doom and Gloom?.
Natural gas extraction had negative effects for local environments where fracking occurs, Because fracking allows us to put carbon that was underneath us into our atmosphere it also contributes to global climate change.
