Martin Luther King Force More Powerful Analysis

The in class film, “Force More Powerful” brings alive what we read in books and what we discussed in class. The film does this by putting an image on the pain, suffering, and humiliation that the African Americans had to go through. I think these images are important because it shows how powerful and scary those times were. It also shows hope and inspiration as you see groups of black and whites coming together to fight discrimination. It is powerful seeing signs that say “no colored allowed” or a white waitress saying, “we don’t serve niggers”. Although these videos are disturbing, it is necessary to understand history. Also seeing real life people helps students establish real life connections to these people. This video reinforced police …show more content…
was important for two big reasons. First off, he was a very powerful and passionate speaker. He had so much power in his voice and in his speeches. He was a great speaker; he didn’t stutter and connected with his audience. Secondly, he was strongly against violence. In the video “Force More Powerful”, the narrator made a very strong point. He said, “In non violent movements, everyone can participate. Women, men, children, everyone”. This is a great point and can explain why he was so important and successful. His approach to the racial injustice in the nation was to use nonviolent methods to stop it. He was successful with this because of numerous tings. For example, he trained people in how to protest nonviolently. He was also successful because he didn’t care what it took to get equality for African Americans. King was arrested numerous times throughout the south but was proud of his arrests. King was proud because he protested nonviolently and was working for a great cause, trying to get African Americans dignity and respect. Another reason that made him successful was his Christian views. King was a Christian man and you could tell by his methods and he would put his religion in speeches. This was a great way to connect with people personally and get more followers in this cause. King also set great goals. A great example of this is when King tried to eliminate segregated in a very racist city, Birmingham Alabama.
