Before this program kids that received free lunch had unhealthier and different meals than kids who paid for their lunch in cash. Kids who paid in cash had more food choices. This program will create social equality for students who pay cash for their lunch and kids who receive free lunch. It will also give those students healthier meals. My experience with school lunch in middle school was slightly different. I received free lunch in middle school, but had the same food choices as the students who paid for their lunch. The meals I received were very unhealthy. It consisted of french fries, chicken nuggets, chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, etc. Another difference is this pilot program will develop a great experience for students with a comfortable lounge that they can eat their nutritious food. In middle school, I would eat my food in an unorganized room with chairs and tables scattered everywhere. This video shows the importance of the food choices for students and also the experience they need to have to be able to eat their food in a clean, organized environment. Giving young kids good eating habits is important so when they get to college they can make healthy food
