The problem of the evil in this world is as old as the world itself is and O’Connor is not the first American man of letters that tries to cope with it. Many outstanding US writers looked for the main answers, provoked by this problem. Really, we all want to know why evil and sufferings do exist in our world and why do they exist in the world so successfully? And maybe the most important question is h ow can we overwhelm the evil without violence?
