Having a family member or a friend who struggles with a certain form of addiction or compulsive disorder is never easy. It can be very difficult to find out the best means possible to support them.
You may want to provide help, but may not be so sure if what you say or do and you often wonder if you are truly helping at all in fighting against his addiction or compulsive disorder, or are you just enabling.

Addiction has plagued our society for so many years and has been one of the major concerns of the government. However, it should also be noted that the family should also be included in the intervention. There is a need for a family intervention because in this way, all members of the family may be able to hear out what the individual with substance abuse has to say and at the same time be aware on how each one has affected the individual, which unknowingly might be the cause of the individual’s substance abuse or compulsive behavior.
The trained professional interventionist is likely to handle the situation better since he/she is a person who is not part of the family, he/she can have a better understanding of what went around the family that caused the individual to fall. A trained interventionist is very unlikely to become bias and would point out specifically on what caused the problem and how it can be remedied.
No matter what kind of addiction the individual may be involved in, there is a reason for an immediate intervention because there is also a need to treat any mental health condition that may have arise due to the
