Introduction According to, in human context, a family (from Latin: familia) is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity, affinity, or co-residence. In most societies it is the principal institution for the socialization of children. Extended from the human "family unit" by biological-cultural affinity, marriage, economy, culture, tradition, honour, and friendship are concepts of family that are physical and metaphorical, or that grow increasingly inclusive extending to community, village, city, region, nationhood, global village and humanism. A family can be defined as many things but my definition of a family is the basic household unit which provides a person’s central relationship, nurture and support. There are …show more content…
She also helps in taking care of the younger brothers or sisters. She may assist brother in other household tasks like gardening, changing bed sheets and curtains and taking care of the laundry.
The benefit derived from training every member of the family to do any kind of household work, considering his age and health condition, is that everyone can be relied upon to do the work in the absence of the other. It also encourages unity and cooperation in making the home a beautiful and happy place to live in.

How do social pressures affect the family? There are many social pressures that affect today's family, not only in the Bahamas, but also all over the world. Some of these pressures are: unemployment, lack of finance, and alcoholism just to name a few. Social pressures such as domestic violence and substance abuse have resulted in an increased crime rate in the Bahamas. Money has been a primary source of survival for the family for a very long time. It is a fact that while there are some families that rake in a large amount of income there are those that have very little money. The most efficient way to obtain money is to get a job.
