I feel that the “family” (Montag and Mildred) in Fahrenheit 451 was very divided.I think it’s mostly because of society's impact on their way of thinking; the society is really isolated and close minded. Also the higher ups didn’t want any close bonds to form with any people in the town.Therefore, they believed that book burning would eliminate the outside influence on what families should look like. Society also thought of children like an accessory, not important to their way of life.All the houses had TVs on the walls in their homes so, people will just sit and watch whatever the social elite thought people should be seeing. It was a disguised, controlled environment to manipulate people's way of thinking.
