An event or action is caused by another event or action that comes before it. A prime example of this is shown is the quotation “A new Mechanical Hound has been brought from another district.” (Bradbury 126) This event only occurs because Montag destroys the original Hound. If Montag had not destroyed the original Hound there would be no need to send out a new Hound to get him. Even with being at fault for the destruction of the Hound, Montag’s action was only possible because of an event that came before …show more content…
Whether it be of faulty hardware or an accident the Hound’s life would only be prolonged for so long. The end result would always be the same, Montag only changed the way it happened. Another example of this is shown in the quotation, “But the falling made a difference. An instant before reaching him the wild beetle cut and swerved out.” (Bradbury 121) The author directly states that Montag was not hit by the Beetle because he fell. Once again a previous event causes another event. If Montag was not to fall, he would of been stuck by the car and killed. The author even states that “the falling made a difference,” showing that there could've been another possible outcome. This quotation shows directly that Montag was not hit by the car because he fell. Montag falling causes the car to miss him as he said in the text “falling made a difference.” Without Montag falling he would of been hit and killed by the beetle. It was determined for Montag to not die when he fell. This shows a direct correlation with event causation. The event of him falling causes the Beetle to miss him. Without falling Montag would of ran into the street
