The first ever baseball game was played in Hoboken, New Jersey on June 19, 1846. The New York Nine crushed the New York Knickerbockers, 23-1. The game of baseball was played according to rules drawn by Alexander J. Cartwright. There was a myth that Abner Doubleday invented baseball but it was Cartwright who laid out the present dimensions of the field and he made the rules for the game. Baseball is the one sport you can always have fun with your friends. Of course I want to win, but the biggest part is to have fun. My dad also is a huge fan of baseball and he is the one who coaches me still until this very day. My brothers have been coached by my dad and I have learned a lot from them. People may think that baseball is not that fun to watch but how can you not like deep home runs, diving catches, or robbed home runs. Even though this stuff doesn’t happen in every game, it is still nice to watch and play baseball. I play in four different positions on the baseball field: pitcher, catcher, shortstop, and second basemen. I also can play in the outfield. My favorite position is either pitcher or catcher. When you pitch, you control the tempo of the game and no one can stop that. When you play catcher, you are the one that control the people in the field. You are the one that tells everybody the play calls and where to throw it on cut-offs. Those positions may sound hard but they are really fun to play. My favorite part of baseball is hitting though.
