How to change the oil in your car
In this easy to follow essay, we will teach you how to properly change the oil in your car.
Oil in your vehicle should be changed every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first. By doing this you will save money on gas and future mechanical issues. First, let’s gather all your tools and supplies that you need to successfully change the oil in your car. You will need the following tools for this job; 5 quarts of oil, oil filter, wrench, oil filter wrench, drain pan, funnel.
For easy cleanup a pair of mechanical gloves and shop towels will be helpful. If you do not have these things on hand, make a trip to the nearest auto parts store and an associate will assist you to get everything you need to get the job done. Be advise that you will

The weather is a be factor for the oil to use. In warmer months, you should get a lighter weight in oil verses in colder months, a heavier weight of oil is best.
Now that you have everything you need, Let’s get started! First, you will need to pull your vehicle on a level ground and make sure your car is in park with the emergency brake set.
Check to make sure you have enough space to work around your vehicle. Next place a wheel chalk behind the rear tires to assure your vehicle will not move. Now walk to your trunk and remove the jack from under the spare tire. Bring the jack to either side of vehicle and locate the jacking points on your vehicle. You can locate these in your owner’s manual under how to properly jack up your vehicle. Once you have secured the jack, only jack up one side of the vehicle and check the vehicle to make sure it is steady on the jack. You will want your engine to cool for at least ten minutes so that oil is warm and you will not get burned.
