Oil in your vehicle should be changed every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first. By doing this you will save money on gas and future mechanical issues. Now that you have everything you need, Let’s get started! First, you will need to pull your vehicle on a level ground and make sure your car is in park with the emergency brake set.
Check to make sure you have enough space to work around your vehicle. Next place a wheel chalk behind the rear tires to assure your vehicle will not move. Now walk to your trunk and remove the jack from under the spare tire. Bring the jack to either side of vehicle and locate the jacking points on your vehicle. You can locate these in your owner’s manual under how to properly jack up your vehicle. Once you have secured the jack, only jack up one side of the vehicle and check the vehicle to make sure it is steady on the jack. You will want your engine to cool for at least ten minutes so that oil is warm and you will not get burned.
