Firstly, emotional decisions lead to negative outcomes that will affect you physically and or mentally. There is a clear example in the Catcher in the Rye that shows how emotional decisions lead to negative outcomes mentally when Holden and Sally go on a date. From the beginning to the end of Romeo and Juliet, there were many parts in the story that had negative outcomes because of decisions based on anger. The negative outcomes caused by decisions made by anger are evident in Romeo and Juliet. One example in Romeo and Juliet was when Romeo and Paris fought at the end of the story. Romeo didn’t want any interruptions as he sees wants to see Juliet for the last time. However, Paris sees Romeo at Juliet’s tomb and provokes him when Romeo said not to or he will kill him. In the book, Romeo says to leave or I will kill you and have another sin. “Fly Hence and leave me. Think upon these gone. Let them affright thee. I beseech thee, youth, put not another sin upon my head by urging me to fury” (Act five, Scene three, Line 60-63). However, Paris says that he will not leave. “I do defy thy conjuration and apprehend thee for a felon here” (Act five, Scene three, Line 68-69). As Romeo is angered by Paris, they fight and Romeo kills Paris. Another example in Romeo and Juliet that had a negative outcome caused by anger was when Romeo with Tybalt in act three scene one. As a result of Tybalt slaying Mercutio, Romeo was enraged at his friend’s death. Romeo then makes the emotional decision to seek out Tybalt to kill him. The outcome was negative as Romeo killed Tybalt in the fight and is now banished from Verona. After his banishment the downfall of the star crossed lovers and tragedies ensue.
