He is becoming quite aggressive and controlling. He thinks it’s okay to act that way because of El Patron and how everyone treats him. It seems as if Matt would rather be feared than loved at this very moment but as I finished reading the section I noticed that he realized that the things he did were wrong and he regrets some of the decisions he had made. Matt is an extremely interesting character because he is being influenced by so many people. While Celia, Maria, and Tam Lin are influencing him to always be kind, El Patron is doing the opposite. “‘They’re just like robots,’ El Patron muttered under his breath.” Most people might believe he was talking about the eejits, however, El Patron was referring to the people at his party. This leads me to believe that El Patron likes the idea of being feared but not the result of people actually fearing him. I think he prefers people to be honest with him, knowing that he could very well punish him if they have the wrong idea or opinion. That could be another reason he loves Matt so much, other than vanity of
