Effects Of Obesity Among American Children Essay

The Government should start implying and enforcing powerful laws towards American’s diets due to the high level of diseases such as obesity rates and to help society take the time to cook a meal and prioritize time as it should be. This will also help our country’s economy raising our agricultural standards. According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “more than one third of children were overweight or obese” in America back in 2012. In my opinion, this will help our agricultural growth by people starting to become more interested in buying their product after the easy fast food is banned.
According to Laura Dawes “Obesity among American children has reached epidemic proportions” which means that our children are at higher risks for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac and even mental health issues. All of these diseases not only carry serious consequences but are also very expensive to treat. Laura states that the obesity rates in our country have several factors to be blamed for including poor families buying high calorie meals for a low cost, families having too many outside from home meals due to lack of time, inactivity with kids that get rides to school instead of walking, etc.
Because fast food restaurants are one of the top responsible factors involving obesity and other diseases it is why I believe they shall be banned, it is almost like our society has become dependent on it and quite frankly I look at it as self-damage. We…
