Abstract
Edger Allan Poe’s life might be considered a depressing story of catastrophes that followed him until he flocked into hostility with most of the world. It impoverished him of the love he desired intensely. It crippled his innovated, gifted talents and it casted him alone as an incompetent waste till oblivion. With many more bleak and gloomy stages that developed in Poe’s existence, I inquest into the early phases of his life to find the causes in many of his psychological problems in his society.

I will provide Edgar Allan Poe’s analysis of the physical, cognitive, and social aspects of his childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
Childhood
Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 19, 1908 in Boston, Massachusetts. Poe’s parents, David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold Poe were both professional actors who later married and had three children; Henry, Edgar, and Rosalie. At the age of two, Edgar’s mother died and the father abandoned the family. The orphans then lived with their grandparents and was later forced for adoption. Each child was adopted by different families. Edgar was adopted and raised by John and Frances Allan in Virginia.
Adolescence
During Poe’s teenage years, the relationship between him and his foster parents started to go downhill. The family did not believe that Poe can make it as a writer. They thought of Poe as a spoiled child and decided to cut him of their will. At…
