Skeeter often sees the discriminating acts childish and uncalled for. Skeeter and Hilly sit down together when Hilly brings up that blacks carry different diseases than the whites and that she is drafting to have separate bathrooms in every house for the maids, and she is saying all of this in front of one of the maids, Aibileen. Skeeter comes back at Hilly and says that maybe they should just build her a bathroom outside since she has such an issue with the maids using the indoor bathroom. When Skeeter snaps back at Hilly like this, it is apparent that she does not agree with Hilly about the blacks and she thinks Hilly is being rude and that demanding someone around and just being awful to them based on their skin color is ridiculous and her moral beliefs show this and it’s proven when she does snap at Hilly. Skeeter believes everyone should be treated equally, regardless of their skin color. It is apparent that she strongly believes in this philosophy by the way she sticks up for the maid against Hilly. Hilly finds out that Skeeter and some of the maids wrote a book revealing all of the horrible discriminating acts against them. She finds out that they put the part where she ate Minny 's feces and she flips out and calls Minnie Jackson a “Nigra” (Taylor). The similarities and differences between the stories are important because each one shows a different perspective of the discrimination. Skeeter reacts differently than Scout because she is more grown up and realizes what discrimination against blacks really is while Scout only has an idea because she is young and does not completely understand why people do it. The situations are the same because they both reveal the problem of colored discrimination and they are different because they show both sides of it, The Help shows women being discriminated against and To Kill A Mockingbird shows a man being discriminated against.
