Diabetes has become an epidemic in the United States of America, and in many revolving countries around the world. There are about three different types of diabetes known. The main types of diabetes are gestational, type one, and type two. Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 is known as chronic autoimmune disease. This means that the body is self-killing its own beta cells found in the pancreas. These beta cells create inulin, which is a peptide hormone that helps control glucose in your blood. Now you may be asking your self what is diabetes and what does it do to your body, well Diabetes mellitus “ is the condition brought about by decreased insulin production or the inability of the body cells to use the insulin properly” (Limmer, O’Keefe Emergency care 13th edition). Diabetes is not curable, but there are a couple of ways you can take care of it like doing exercise, managing your diet, and taking medications. Although, there are many ways to control diabetes, diabetes T1 is a type of diabetes that you develop. Diabetes T1 is hereditary and will always be in your family. Things like insulin pumps, pills, and exercise can control diabetes T1. Diabetes T1 is there for life until scientists create a cure for it. Diabetes T1 can really affect a person 's life. As it can put a lot of strain on your family as they transform from family members to forever caregivers for you.
