People who are overweight or obese have a higher chance of getting type 2 diabetes. Sometimes it can appear is people’s genes. This form of diabetes frequently goes undiagnosed for many years because the hyperglycemia develops gradually and at earlier stages is often not severe enough for the patient to notice any of the classic symptoms of diabetes.3 Some symptoms people can have are hunger, fatigue, increased thirst, and blurred vision. Some people may be able to control their type 2 diabetes symptoms by losing weight, following a healthy diet, doing plenty of exercise, and monitoring their blood glucose levels.4 People can also take medication to control their symptoms.
