Children develop in both aspects of social and personality through interaction of social pressure, biological maturation, and the child’s perception of the social world and self. Childhood development is crucial and involves many interactions. These interactions include the influence of significant relationships, the development of social understanding, the growth of personality and the development of social and emotional capabilities. Many outside influences also affect the development in children, such as parents, peers, and or critical life experiences.

September 25, 2016 I witness two innocent children be emotionally neglected by their mother. Sunday mornings are supposed to be filled with peace and joyfulness especially when attending a church service. Some aspects that may be affected are the abilities to engage in socially productive actions such as helping, caring, aggressive urges, values, and self-identity. If the situation observed continue to exist throughout both children’s development it is rational to predict in 10 years both children will view their selves as unlovable and undeserving. They will view others as inconsistent, insensitive, and view the world as unpredictable. This prediction however is not guaranteed from a 5 min observation and could change if the mother in this situation displayed attention for her children’s needs when they seek attention.
