As social beings, we strive for many forms of companionship. Consequently, we act in a way that will adhere to these results. We act out in a way that hopefully others will find desirable. The schemas and scripts that we make ultimately decided the kind of people we attract. Psychologically speaking, we learn the proper scripts based on the reaction of others. In psychology, schemas are the way individuals organize the relationships around them and scripts are the responses that are expected in any given situation (Aubin, 1996). The rise of social media is a modern way of creating toughs connections. This invention is created to fulfill our desire for constant interaction. Nevertheless, we then use these inventions and discoveries to leave a mark on the world. Within various context, whether it being the best, the first, or even the worst at something it is our nature to claim this in the facets of our life. Therefore social media is the new and riseing way to leave your mark on this planet, either good or bad, once something is on the internet it is there forever. Within our group we decided that this is something all humans need to some extent. Other animals simply go about their lives without questioning their instincts and the actions they take. Humans need to rationalize and find a solution for every question that arises. Whether it be a scientific, religious, or psychological explanation it is engrained within us to desire a conclusion. Moreover, not only do we rationalize the phenomena of the world, but our own life choices and the roles we play within our communities. Our morals and belief systems are used to justify our actions in all aspects of life. This can be seen most clearly from the psychology’s view of ideological scripts. Therefore, the ideology script is key in uncovering the basics of a person’s nature. Individual, group, or cultural ideologies may be understood according to the two orthogonal dimensions of humanism and normativism. The humanistic ideological orientation views humankind as an end in itself, an active, creative, thinking, desiring, and loving force. The normative ideological orientation, maintains that reality exists prior to and independent of humankind and that human beings must struggle toward this (unattainable) potential through conformity to norms and set rules (Tomkins, 1963b).
