Beaudoin_A Black Death DBQ Essay The Black Death is a disease that was spread throughout Europe only in 4 years time. This disease took many innocent lives and great countries. These people living and dead were put through misery.But the misery only lasted three days, then they died. During this misery different people reacted in different ways. Just like the Physicians were precocious but they also used the Black death for money, families were in distraught, and countries were in isolation. Even though they are all different types of people they were all affected by the black death. In this Dark Age the Physicians are becoming greedy and not caring for others, only themselves. During this time Physicians were hard to find but “those who could be found wanted vast sums in hand before they entered the house.” (Document 4) The people of the Dark Ages that were suffering from the black death were in outrageous pain. One way was how “they burnt the Jews in many towns . . . There were about two thousand of them. Those who wanted to be baptize themselves were spared.” (Document 6) Throughout Europe the people began to believe that the Jews had poisoned their water, but there was no hard evidence. So those people decide to turn to the worst and turn on each other. Another way different countries reacted was how the “rich fled” from the higher class to safer places in different countries, “death was principally directed towards the poor.” (Document 12) This shows that some countries are cleaner and have less mortality rates. Because of this some countries did not have to react but some had to flee. Something else is how “the trading nations of Europe were all afraid of us; no port of France, or Holland, or Spain, or Italy would admit our ships.
