World War II between powers in the Western Bloc (U.S and its NATO Allies) and the Eastern Bloc ( the Soviet Union and its Satellite States). The Cold War happened from 1947 until 1991. The cold war had several negative impacts on the U.S, the Soviet Union and also affected some other countries like Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Egypt, Japan, Panama and Czechoslovakia. This led to the “Cuban Missile Crisis”. Both the Soviet Union and Cuba were allied against the United States. When President Kennedy saw the missiles that were placed by the Soviet Union into Cuba , the U.S “decided to put a naval blockade around Cuba to prevent more supplies from coming into Cuba from the Soviet Union”. The Cuban Missile Crisis caused a great mistrust between the U.S and Cuba. There was also impact on Cuba, culturally, such as the Cuban Revolution. The Cuban Revolution was an “armed revolt conducted by Fidel Castro.” The Fidel revolutionary government replaced the Cuban government changing into communism in 1959.
