I feel university would be an enriching place to study and an experience that cannot be missed, especially during my prime years of education. I am extremely excited to further my knowledge of my interests in a mature and engaging environment. Both activities I have taken in my stride, giving maximum effort to acquire more necessary skills for example leadership skills and the ability to plan and carry out an event such as bake sales and primary school discos. Both included the presence of smaller children, portraying my responsible nature to communicating and working with those of a vulnerable age. One of my most rewarding activities was a scholar programme I was a part of during my time at school. The ‘Brilliant Club’ was a 4 week programme working alongside Durham University and PhD tutor Kelly?. A similar application to a personal statement was required to be a part of this programme and a select few were chosen. We studied the topic of restorative justice which I found extremely satisfying and fuelled my interest on similar topics like psychology and sociology. A 3,000 word assignment was compulsory to pass this module; this was graded to university standard.
