Long before Autism is considered a neurological disorder; it was first described as a subset of schizophrenic patients for patients who are self-absorbed in other words, it was known as childhood schizophrenia. “In 1944, A German scientist named Hans Asperger describes a "milder" form of autism now known as Asperger 's Syndrome.” (History of autism, page 4). Correlation study is “a research strategy that involves relating two or more variables” (Belsky, 2013) – page 26). To make it a correlation study, I could interview two groups of 30-year-old males that were born in a determined county. One group being of men that are in jail for some sort of aggressive behavior and the other of men that have no history of violent behavior. In the interview I would ask about which type of TV shows, cartoons and movies that they liked. And see if there is a correlation between being aggressive and liking watching violence in TV.…
The idea of inclusion of the autistic into society is promoted by powerful bodies of medical professionals and associations against the stigmatization of the developmentally-disabled resulting in a shift in the construction of autism in society (Gabbard, 2010). Sometimes, autistic persons are presented as not so different from the rest of society and the line between what is normal behaviour and autism blurs (Draaisma, 2009). The implications of this shift in social construct of autism is ideally that of a more inclusive society that tries to adapt to the needs of the disabled (Treffert,…
