The Odyssey
Every hero is composed of exclusive characteristics that defines them in a unique way. In today’s society heroes are often described by their significant character traits such as; courage,loyalty and great strength. In the epic poem, The Odyssey the main character Odysseus fulfills all these characteristics by defeating his enemies with the help of his crew. He is known for his courageousness and bravery which define him as a true hero that honors his legacy. In addition, Batman is a comic hero who known as the guardian of the city of Gotham. He is a brave hero who defends his city against many villians. However, since no two heroes are alike, Odysseus and Batman have their differences which make them unique in their own way.

So instead of solving the battle once it for all, as is generally the case with our modern-day heroes such as Batman, in Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, we see Odysseus’ own pride, his ego, fate, Gods all conspiring to worsen his troubles instead of fixing it. For example, in Cyclops’ cave, Odysseus could have escaped without mentioning his name.
