Columbia Broadcasting System – CBS Corporation is one of the largest American media holdings and conducts its activity in the branch of mass media and the entertaining industry. The business of a direction of the Company is cable television, creation, and propagation of a television content, a film studio, publishing house, TV and radio stations, interactive media and the outdoor advertising including a network of television announcement CBS Television Network.

It means that they are not losing their current audiences, but also attracting new people. They are always coming up with new ways of viewing and continuous improvement. There is a constant cycle of development and innovation. For example, they are constantly filming new seasons of old shows, for example, “The Big Bang Theory” or even remaking classic shows in modern circumstances, like they did with “Hawaii Five-O”. They are creating new talk shows and implementing female sports programs into the channels. Finally, they are coming up new program types, new forms of media and now are offering 3D TV and movies.
Also, CBS have accounts in different social medias and is keeping their followers up to date with everything that is happening with their favorite movies, shows and programs. The corporation always keeps their audience waiting by releasing teaser previews of the programs and shows creating a lot of interest in watching them. Moreover, they try to respond to customer’s requests and complaints promptly, so people are happy. There are several ways CBS corporation is creating revenues, one of them is through advertising in their programs, on sports events, on their web pages and social media accounts. The price of having an ad during a specific time of a day depends on the popularity of the show.. They are also creating a media of a very high quality and investors who see potential and know how successful the projects usually are invest money into the company. “Having sold less inventory in the Upfront, we stand to benefit this television season as we sell our №1 network in a very robust scatter marketplace.” Leslie Moonves, the president and the CEO of the CBD Corporation said. (Moonves, 2015) Another way is through selling rights to screen some of their shows on other channels. Also, the company gets revenue from the online subscriptions to CBS and Showtime and it has risen in 2015. (Wall Street Journal, 2015) Of course, CBS has their own merchandise where they sell goods related to their projects such as t-shirts, cups, glasses and so on. They still create DVDs for people to buy. CBS owns Watch! Magazine which brings more revenue as celebrities are usually represented there and people tend to still buy the magazine even nowadays..
