According to The British Association of Play Therapist, Play therapy has three important components; actualization, the need for positive regard, and play as communication. Actualization in play therapy is displayed acting out real life problems in a creative way. The need for positive regard children often feel the need to be respected and need attention, the therapist provides this during therapy as the intuitively watch the child play and provide comfort while doing so.
