Introduction
The number of children who are diagnosed with ADHD has increased. According to the American psychiatric association, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the common mental health diagnoses in childhood. There are around seven percents of children suffered from ADHD. Also, ADHD may affect the children’s all aspects of life and lead to significant problems in their daily functioning. In order to help the children, I would like to examine whether child-centered play therapy is effective in improving the behavior of the children with ADHD.

In the following, I would briefly mention about the result of the research which talking about how play therapy affecting the children with ADHD.
The first research was investigated by Ray, Schottelkorb, and Tsai, they identified 60 elementary children with ADHD on the Conners Teacher Rating Scale-Revised: Short Form (CTRS-R:S). They were randomly assigned to 16 30-minute sessions of either child-centered play therapy or reading mentoring. The researchers found that children in the child-centered play therapy’s group demonstrated significantly improvement in the reduction of anxiety or withdrawal symptoms and behavior.
The second research was investigated by April Schottelkorb, she did a single case study with five volunteer elementary children. The result showed that three elementary children demonstrated a clear improvement in on-task behavior during participation in play therapy. For the remaining, they did not show a clear change during participation in play therapy. From the above result, it showed that play therapy could help to improve the children with ADHD‘s
