There is a perpetuating stereotype that black women are aggressive and rude which is not true we are just like any other female who is made angry or uncomfortable. This stereotype should not be used as an excuse to arrest any black female for minor crimes or something as small as a traffic ticket.
Media stereotypes and portrayals of black women are a major problem. These stereotypes are constantly promoted and are permeating into our society to the point where blacks especially black women are constantly mocked, hated, and penalized for simply expressing ourselves. The stereotypes such as the angry black woman is the most common.
Moreover, there are some limitations and opposition to the argument made above. One limitation is that black women are creating the stereotype and perpetuating. I question this logic because the stereotypes about black women are the majority of the portrayals of black women that are shown on television and it is the responsibility of the viewer to choose whether or not to view positive or negative
